2014 Summer Dinner Series

Summer brings a host of welcome changes. With schedules that are more flexible, many of us can afford to spend more time outdoors, and doing things that we enjoy with friends, family, and neighbors. So it is only natural that our rhythm as the church changes as well. To capitalize on this, we are once again hosting a Summer Dinner Series on Wednesday nights, July 9th to August 13th. Join us as EAT, GROW, and CONNECT around this Summer’s theme of Ambassador: Sent by Jesus with the Message of Reconciliation in Changing and Challenging Times.

Eat

Jesus was no stranger to a good meal, whether it was with the faithful, or not-so-faithful. He showed us that meals together demonstrate the grace that God extends to us! During our Summer Dinner Series at The Fourhundred, you will be able to enjoy the convenience of a catered dinner. Dinner will be $5 per person, with a $20 max per family.

Grow

Therefore, as Christ’s ambassadors…We implore you on [His] behalf: Be reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20

This summer, we will be changing the Summer Dinner Series format from previous years. Immediately after dinner each Wednesday, we will all come together to hear God’s Word and wisdom to us as we look at what it means to live out this Ambassador identity in all our varied contexts. How do we bring the message of reconciliation to:

  • Our culture: music, movies, food, craft-beer, sports
  • Our relationships in the world: workplace, neighbors, dating, parties
  • Our family: kid’s activities, school, friends
  • Those with competing world views: relativism, atheism, homosexuality
  •

    Connect

    Discussion Groups
After each Wednesday’s main session, we will break up into smaller discussion groups to work this out together. What does it look like to bring the gospel to music and movie lovers, foodies, and recreational athletes? How do we think through key cultural trends as ambassadors, and not just critics? How can we approach our household’s sports and schooling activities like missionaries, and not just consumers?

    Summer Beta Community
What does it mean to be a gospel community on mission? Join folks new to Redemption Hill Church for our next Beta Community, which will run concurrently with the main Summer Dinner Series sessions. During these six weeks, you’ll be able to “field-test” the way the gospel shapes our community as we focus on the big ideas we hope to embody: gospel-centered, grace-driven, and mission-minded. The hope is that that after the Beta experience, everyone involved will become part of a new or existing Community.
