Baptism

We love celebrating what God is doing in the lives of the people who make up the Redemption Hill church community. And the most exciting thing He is doing is calling people to Himself. The Bible teaches that “salvation is from the Lord” (Jonah 2:9). No one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws that person (John 6:44). And when God calls someone to faith in Jesus, baptism follows.

As a wedding ring is the sign of a marriage covenant, so baptism is the physical sign of God’s spiritual covenant with his people. The Bible knows no such thing as an unbaptized Christian.

Baptism is a public testimony of what Christ has done in your life. It is a symbolic picture of death, burial, resurrection— and new life! When you are baptized, you are obeying Christ’s command in the Bible for all believers, and you are telling the world that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life. At Redemption Hill, we believe that biblical baptism is symbolic— it doesn’t “save” you— but also that it’s very important in the life of every believer. It’s a symbol of both your commitment to Christ and to His church.

If you are a Christian and you have not been baptized, you need to be. It’s that simple.

On Sunday morning August 9 &16…We will be holding  an informational q&a about baptism at Redemption Hill for anyone who is interested. You only have to attend one.

Please send an RSVP to info@redemptionhill.com letting us know that you’re coming.
