Sunday Rhythm | September 11, 2011

The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around. His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods! Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O LORD. For you, O LORD, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name! – Psalm 97:1-12

This Sunday, September, September 11, in addition to going to two services, we will be beginning a new sermon series based on the Nicene Creed entitled The Real God for the Real World. Pastor Robert Greene will be back and preaching on The necessity of belief for a suspicious world. If you have not already volunteered to serve in our Sunday gatherings, you can sign up to do so here.

Also, if you are still looking for your Community at Redemption Hill, you will have the opportunity after each service this Sunday to meet the Communities and the leaders at our Community Link. Grouped by region, you’ll have 15 minutes to get to know the people, their particular mission, and how they hope to live out the gospel. For a current listing of our Communities and their weekly gatherings, click here. Continue to pray for all the operations and logistics surrounding our move to two services, and that the love of God through Christ would be magnified in those details. Pray that the supremacy of Christ will be manifest to all on Sunday, and that God will be our all in all.

Here are the songs that we will sing together this week:

  • Praise to the Lord, the Almighty by Joachim Neander and Catherine Winkworth.
  • Glorious by Paul Baloche and Brenton Brown. You can read more about this song and why we do it by clicking here.
  • The Solid Rock by William Batchelder Bradbury and Edward Mote. This is our next Partnering to Remember: Hymn song. You will be able to download a FREE recording of the hymn at Redemption Hill Music early next week. This week we will be focusing on Verse 2 and the Chorus:
  • When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

  • Refuge by Neil Robins and Isaac Watts. You can read more about this song and why we do it by clicking here.
  • The songs that we will be singing in the RH Kids K-4 Music and Mission Gathering this Sunday will include:

    See you Sunday!
