Meet Ryan

rayn-bWhat is your role at Redemption Hill?
Director of Operations
Listen to sermons by Ryan

What is your prayer / hope for Redemption Hill?
That we would understand and treasure the work of Jesus to the degree that it propels us to love and service.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
“…the true usefulness of our preaching will not be known to us until all the fruit on all the branches on all the trees that have sprung up from all the seeds we’ve ever sown has fully ripened in the sunshine of eternity.”
John Piper, The Supremacy of God in Preaching, p 22.

What are your favorite books and movies?
I don’t really have any “favorite” books. However, there are two books that the result of reading them was a radical life change. The first was “Every Nation in Our Generation.” After reading this book I packed up my family and we moved to Richmond VA. The second was “The Supremacy of God in Preaching.” After reading that book, my entire approach to preaching was forever changed. I don’t think any other books have produced as much life change in me as these two books did.

What are you listening to these days?
In the car, I listen to NPR or theological lectures. When I’m at my desk you’ll catch me listening to blues (mostly delta), Redemption Hill Music, or dubstep.

What can you be caught doing on your day off?
Usually coaching soccer or hanging out in the front yard with my family and neighbors.

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I never let microwaves stop on 0.
