Sermon Text:
I John 4:11-12; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; John 13:34-35; Colossians 3:1-4, 12-14

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God…  In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected in us.”

– John the Apostle

Reflection Points

  • What have you been for yourself that looks like it’s for others?  Be specific.
  • Do you really care about other people?  Are you deeply affected by their suffering?
  • Which part of the gospel has let you take your eyes off yourself?  Chosen, Holy, Beloved, Christ is our life…?
  • Will you invest your new capacity in the people at Redemption Hill?  In the people in this city?
