Lesson Review – Acts 10 – The Gentiles Are Converted

Here are some review notes from this week’s lesson in our preschool and K-4 classes. This week we studied Acts 10 – The Gentiles Are Converted.

This is lesson 51 of 78 in our study of the New Testament. This lesson corresponds with Story 129 in The Gospel Story Bible and with Week 51 of the Old Story New family devotional.

Gospel Truth for Today

The gospel is offered to all people!

The Lesson In A Sentence (or Two)

After seeing a vision where God declares the unclean clean, Peter shares the good news of Jesus with a Gentile, Cornelius, who repents and receives the promised Holy Spirit. The good news spreads to all people.

Questions for Discussion

What did Peter tell the Gentiles?

Peter told the Gentiles the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Why was it amazing to Peter that Gentiles would be welcomed by God?

In the past, God had only blessed the people of Israel with his Spirit and his care. It surprised Peter that God was including Gentiles, people who were not a part of Israel.

What happened to the Gentiles to whom Peter preached the gospel?

God saved them, and the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on them and they spoke in tongues.

What did Peter tell them to do after they believed?

He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Praying together

Take time to pray today thanking God that the gospel is good news for ALL people. Ask God to use you, like he did Peter, to tell others about Jesus.
