Lesson Review – Ephesians 1:1-14 – Chosen Before the World Began


Here are some review notes from this week’s lesson in our preschool and K-4 classes. This week we studied Ephesians 1:1-14 – Chosen before the World Began.

This is lesson 65 of 78 in our study of the New Testament. This lesson corresponds with Story 143 in The Gospel Story Bible and with Week 65 of the Old Story New family devotional.

Gospel Truth for Today

While we were dead in our sins, God makes us alive together with Christ.

The Lesson In A Sentence (or Two)

God gave leaders as a gift to help the church mature and grow.

Questions for Discussion

1. What do we call the people who lead our church?


2. Do you know who gave pastors to our church?

God did.

3. Do you know why he gave us pastors?

God gave us pastors as a gift to help us to grow.

4. What do the pastors do?

Draw out the children to see if they can name some of the things a pastor does, such as pray, study the Bible, preach from the Bible, care for the people, etc.

5. Can you name the other special people God gave to help the church?

Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.

Praying together – Take time to pray with your child, thanking God for the pastors of Redemption Hill and asking God to help the pastors to faithfully love and serve the church in a way that honors Jesus.
