Lesson Review – Hebrews 11 – By Faith

Here are some review notes from this week’s lesson in our preschool and K-4 classes. This week we studied Hebrews 11 – By Faith. This is lesson 75 of 78 in our study of the New Testament. This lesson corresponds with Story 153 in The Gospel Story Bible and with Week 75 of the Old Story New family devotional.

Gospel Truth for Today

It is through faith that we believe that Jesus died in our place for our sin and that God raised him from the dead and are made righteous before God. “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith.” Ephesians 2:8

The Lesson In A Sentence (or Two)

Throughout the bible we see that faith is believing what we do not see and that faith pleases God.

Questions for Discussion

What is faith?

Faith is believing something to be true that you cannot see or prove to be true.

What does God think of our faith?

Our faith pleases God [Hebrews 11:6].

Why does our faith make God happy?

Our faith in God pleases him and makes him happy because it tells him that we trust him and depend on him. The Bible also says that our faith is a gift from God. How amazing! God gives us faith, then is pleased with us when we show our faith!

Does God still want us to have faith?

Yes. He wants us to believe him and what he says about Jesus. Mostly that Jesus lived a perfect life of love for God and died for our sins so that we could get his perfect record and be made right (righteous) before God.

Praying Together- Take time to pray with your child, asking that God would help you and your child to have faith in God and his word, trusting Jesus above all things.
