Here are some review notes from this week’s lesson in our preschool and K-4 classes. This week we studied John 14:1-26 – Jesus Promises to Send the Holy Spirit.

This is lesson 34 of 78 in our study of the New Testament. This lesson corresponds with Story 112 in The Gospel Story Bible and with Week 34 of the Old Story New family devotional.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

The Lesson In A Sentence (or Two)

After the Passover meal was finished Jesus encouraged his followers that even though he was going to the cross, he would send the Holy Spirit to help them.

Questions For You Kids

What did Jesus promise his disciples? 

Jesus promised the disciples that the Holy Spirit would come to them.

Who did Jesus say he would ask to send the Holy Spirit? 

Jesus said he would ask God the Father to send the Holy Spirit.

How does Jesus say the Holy Spirit will help the disciples? 

The Holy Spirit will teach them all things and bring back to their minds all that Jesus taught them.

How can the Holy Spirit help us today?

The Holy Spirit can help us understand the meaning of Jesus’ words in the Bible and help us apply them to our lives. The Holy Spirit can help us remember Jesus’ words too!
