Lesson Review – Romans 10:9-17 – Believe and Confess

Parents,

Here are some review notes from this week’s lesson in our preschool and K-4 classes. This week we studied Romans 10:9-17 – Believe and Confess

This is lesson 60 of 78 in our study of the New Testament. This lesson corresponds with Story 138 in The Gospel Story Bible and with Week 60 of the Old Story New family devotional.

Gospel Truth for Today

Salvation in Christ is a free gift for all who believe

The Lesson In A Sentence (or Two)

In Romans 10 Paul explains that it is through faith in Jesus that we are saved. It is not based on our good works or obedience, but on God’s grace.

Questions for Discussion

1. In today’s story, what does Paul say we should do?

We should confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead.

2. What does it mean to confess with your mouth?

That’s just another way of saying that we should speak it or say it with our mouths to others. Confession can mean telling what we did wrong or what we believe. Here Paul means to tell others what we believe about Jesus.

3. What does it mean to believe in your heart?

Your heart is that place where you have hope and trust, love and hate. God wants you to believe with all your heart.

Praying together – Take time to pray with your child, asking God to grant you both faith to believe Jesus and to tell other about him.
