Call to Worship
Psalm 91:1-4
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue me from every trap and protect me from deadly disease. He will cover me with his feathers. He will shelter me with his wings. His faithful promises are my armor and protection.
- Be Thou My Vision by Mary Elizabeth Byrne and Eleanor Henrietta Hull.
- Abide With Me by Henry Francis Lyte and William Henry Monk.
Assurance of Pardon
1 Peter 5:6-10
Father, we humble yourselves under your mighty power, and ask that at the right time, you would lift us up in honor. Today, we give all our worries and cares to you, for you care about us. Help us to stay alert to our great enemy, the devil. For he is actively prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Help us to stand firm against him, and be strong in our faith. Remembering that believers all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering we are. Thank you for calling us to share in your eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. Restore us, support us, and strengthen us in the midst of suffering. Place us on the firm foundation of your son Jesus. All power to him forever! Amen.
- There is a Fountain Filled With Blood by William Cowper and Lowell Mason.
