Sunday Rhythm | August 23, 2020

Welcome to the Sunday morning rhythm of Redemption Hill Church. If this is your first time “joining” us, please let us know by filling out this online form.

While the rhythm below is provided for your reference and use, please note that the entire Sunday gathering, including singing and prayers, will be streamed live at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.

  • If you haven’t already done so, be sure and check out Pastor Robert’s latest video briefing.
  • Join Mark and Loree Becton Sunday night, August 30th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, as they reflect and share honestly from 30 years of praying together. Be encouraged by both their faithfulness, and their struggles. Hear what practices have helped, and not helped, as they have cultivated a prayer life together. Click here for more info and to register.
  • Join us beginning Tuesday, September 15th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, for a five-week class on Sadness and the God of All Comfort. We will be exploring what’s at the heart of our particular chronic, circumstantial, or seasonal melancholy, and together seek to apply the comfort of God’s grace where we need it most. Ed Welchs’ book Depression: Looking Up from the Stubborn Darkness will guide our discussion, and serve as a valuable resource for us. Come be encouraged by the gospel through others who are sufferers, sinners, and saints. Click here for more info and to register.
  • Our next Parent Commissioning will be next Sunday, August 30th, during both services of Redemption Hill Church, and will have a special video component to introduce everyone. Click here to register.

Call to Worship

Psalm 28:1-2, 6-8
We pray to you, O Lord, our rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to us. For if you are silent, we might as well give up and die. Listen to our prayer for mercy as we cry out to you for help, as we lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.

This Sunday, Robert Greene will be continuing in our sermon series on the Parables of Jesus. His text will be Luke 18:1-8. If you missed last Sunday, you can listen and/or watch here.

Assurance of Pardon

2 Corinthians 4:14, 16-18
We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Sending on Mission

Romans 15:13
We pray that God, the source of our hope, will fill us completely with joy and peace because of our trust in him. Then we will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
