  • Sadness and the God of All Comfort – Join us beginning Tuesday, September 15th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, for a five-week class on Sadness and the God of All Comfort. We will be exploring what’s at the heart of our particular chronic, circumstantial, or seasonal melancholy, and together seek to apply the comfort of God’s grace where we need it most. Ed Welchs’ book Depression: Looking Up from the Stubborn Darkness will guide our discussion, and serve as a valuable resource for us. Come be encouraged by the gospel through others who are sufferers, sinners, and saints. Click here for more info and to register.

  • Gospel-Fluency – How can the gospel have a deeper impact on our everyday lives? How can I speak about Jesus so others can experience this? Where in my life am I failing to believe the truth about God and the gospel? How can I better understand my own experience of God’s grace? How can my story help others believe? Join Mark Becton beginning Sunday, September 13th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, for a five-week course using Jeff Vanderstelt’s book Gospel-Fluency: Speaking the Truths of Jesus into the Everyday Stuff of Life. Click here for more info and to register.
  • How to Study the Bible – Join Sebastian Traeger beginning Sunday, September 13th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom, for a five-week class on learning how to study the Bible. This class will pull from best practices and methods for studying the bible. We hope to equip you both for personal study, and for teaching others. You’ll see how to ask questions of a text in different genres (OT narratives, wisdom literature, gospels, and epistles), and how to use study tools for help. Overall, the aim is to stir joy within you through observing, interpreting, and applying scripture. Click here for more info and to register.
  • Women of Redemption Hill Church! Join us beginning Thursday, September 17th, at 8:00 p.m. on Zoom, for a five-week study on the book of Psalms. This study will be an overview of common genres in the Psalms: lament, thanksgiving, wisdom, and praise. We will take time each week to study two Psalms on our own, and then come together on Thursday to discuss what we gleaned from our time in the text. During our time together, our hope and prayer is that we’ll learn how to better study the Psalms, let the words of the Psalms lead and guide us in worship and prayer, and understand the ways that the Psalms point us to our hope and treasure, Jesus Christ. Click here for more info and to register.
  • Online Baptism Class – If you are desiring to be baptized, or would would simply like to know more about what Redemption Hill Church believes about baptism, then join us for a special online Baptism Class on Sunday, September 20th, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Zoom, prior to the Sunday morning service. Call to Worship

Psalm 97 1-6, 9-12
The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all peoples see his glory. For you, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

This Sunday, Tim Abbott will be continuing in our sermon series on the Parables of Jesus. His text will be Luke 12:13-21. If you missed last Sunday, you can listen and/or watch here.

Assurance of Pardon

Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.

Sending on Mission

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
