Call to Worship

Psalm 16:7-11
I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Adapted from 2 Timothy 2:13 and 1 Peter 1:9
Gracious God, when we are faithless, you remain faithful, for you cannot deny who you are. You have fed us with the spiritual food of the body and blood of our savior Jesus, but we have doubted that it is enough to satisfy us. You have proven to us your goodness and love, but we have asked for lesser loves to fulfill us. You have bought us and made us members of your body, and heirs of your eternal kingdom, but we have sought after our own kingdoms, and turned our family members away. Today, when we hear your voice, deliver us from our hardness of heart. Help us to put away anything that leads us to doubt your goodness. Keep us faithful to your Son, and strengthen us by your Spirit, until we receive the reward of our faith: eternal restoration with you. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Matthew 11:28, 1 Timothy 1:15, 1 John 2:1-2
Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Here is a trustworthy saying that serves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Genesis 1-3

This Sunday, Robert Greene will continue in our sermon series on Genesis 1-3.

  • Lord, I Need You by Daniel Carson, Matt Maher, Christy Nockels, and Jesse Reeves.
  • Ain’t No Grave by Jonathan Helser, Melissa Helser, Molly Skaggs, Claude Ely, Megan Clinch, and Shelby T. Murphy.

‭‭Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
