The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone. The Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel, which means “God is With Us.” – Isaiah 9:2; 7:14
This Sunday, Robert Greene will be kicking off the Advent and Christmas season with a sermon on the Advent theme of Hope. If you missed any of the previous sermon series based on the Nicene Creed, you can listen to and download all those sermons here. Also, be sure and mark your calendar and plan on joining us Saturday, December 24, at 6:00 p.m., for a Christmas Eve service at our new office building (400 West 32nd Street, RVA 23225).
Here are the songs that we will sing together this week:
- Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus by Charles Wesley and Christian Friedrich Witt. You can read more about this song and why we sing it by clicking here.
- Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence by Gerard Moultrie.
- O Holy Night by Adolphe Charles Adam, Placide Cappeau, and John S. Dwight.
- What Child Is This? by William Chatterton Dix.
- Hark! The Herald Angels Sing by Felix Mendelssohn and Charles Wesley.
See you Sunday!
