Sunday Rhythm | September 18, 2022

Welcome to the Sunday morning rhythm of Redemption Hill Church. If this is your first time “joining” us, please let us know by filling out this online form.

Call to Worship

Psalm 107:1-3, 8-9
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. For he has gathered the exiles from many lands, from east and west, from north and south. Let us praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for us. For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Prayer of Confession

Heavenly Father, giver of life and all blessings, we confess our shortcomings as sojourners in this world for when we have used our citizenship in heaven as an excuse to ignore the needs of our city. Forgive us, O Lord.
For when we have let the blessings of heaven distract us from our duty as cultivators and subduers of the earth. Forgive us, O Lord.
For when we have denied your sovereignty over time and place by longing for a lifestyle that is not our own. Forgive us, O Lord.
Grow in us a desire to cherish our city and seek its well being. Grow in us a love for those around us that reflects the heart of christ. Grow in us the courage to offer our lives as a sacrifice, so that we may live intentional lives of obedience on earth as we await the coming of your heavenly kingdom. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

1 Thessalonians

This Sunday, Robert Greene will continue in our sermon series on 1 Thessalonians.

Benediction

‭Psalm 119:1-5
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
