Community groups started this week at Redemption Hill. The Kids’ Community Group met as well and discussed this week’s overview sermon on the mission of RH in the city of Richmond for the sake of the nations. You may be interested in knowing what the RH middle schoolers perceive as the greatest problems facing our city, our nation, and our world.
Our city:
- Unemployment
- The economy
- Self-indulgence
- Poverty
- People not reading their Bibles
- Bullies
- People not using their money wisely
- Coveting
- Drugs
- Abortion
- Crime
- Murder
The world:
We also spent some time brainstorming ways that we could be part of the solutions to some of these problems. I think my favorite was gathering baskets of pillows, clothes, food, mouse traps, and bug lotion for people who live in abandoned buildings. Most likely to be accomplished soon was the idea to have a bake sale at someone’s house and use the money raised to help with some of the needs the middle schoolers were concerned about.
